Toothache Isn’t The Worst Kind of Pain

Toothache is one the worst pains one can experience but what is worse than this is the pain in the jaw. There are muscles and nerves that connect our brain nerves and can cause chronic headache that is unbearable at times. Facial pain, ear pain, biting issues, clicking of jaw, etc. are some problems associated with these joints. Temporomandibular joint is the nerve that connects our gum tissues to the temporal bone (skull). TMJ in Fort Lauderdale comprises of blood vessels, bones, nerves and muscles which is present on either sides of the jaw. More women than men are said to have Temporomandibular joint syndrome which involves pain in the facial muscles as well as mandibular joints.

Grinding and clenching of teeth result in deformity of this joint and results in various problems. Also, after a certain dental procedure as well the patient can experience a slight pain in this tissue. Application of heat and massages are helpful in such situations. TMJ syndrome in Fort Lauderdale does not have a specific reason. Injured jaw or genes are some factors that cause such a disorder. This syndrome not only causes pain in the jaw joint put in the joints associated with it. That’s why people experience headaches when they have even a slight pain in their jaw muscles.

One of the causes is improper care of oral health. If a person does not follow the routine of brushing and flossing regularly then they can easily catch gum infections that can lead to pain in this joint. Following these habits can avoid such issues because of the avoidance of periodontal diseases as well. Crooked teeth is also a factor involved with this disorder which is why it is good to get your overall oral health checked by a dentist at least once a year.
